The University of Richmond celebrated the inauguration of Edward L. Ayers, a distinguished historian of the American South, as its ninth president on April 10–11, 2008. This series of events brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, community leaders, and special guests to welcome President Ayers to Richmond formally and celebrate the remarkable history and promise of the University.

Inauguration Weekend also coincided with the University’s 2008 Reunion Weekend.
